Hey guys

I noticed that on the driverside that the hood fender (small plastic shield attached to the inner of the hood right behind the tire is grabbing/rubbing the front tire. Making it nearly impossible to open the hood with only one person.

All the gaps lines etc are perfect anyone else have this problem. Do I need to do something to the hinges etc?

Is the car lowered and does it have aftermarket wheels? Both can contribute to rubbing when opening or closing the hood. Can you just turn the wheels to prevent it?

big-n-italian I have digi cam its a Canon G6 7.1,,,, I don't know how to post pics, aparently you need webspace???

factory wheels and tires and turning the wheel doesn't really help except for the corner of the hood nood rubbing.

SuperSaiks, I haven't seen that problem before...mine has a decent amount of clearance there. Is it just the one side doing this?

PS I will try to help you post the pics when I get home tonight from work.

super - if you can take the pic, it is very easy to download photos under your username. if you can do that, we would be happy to show them for you in this thread to help you get this figured out. but it appears that we really need to see a few pics in order to help properly.

I have the same problem. You need two people. When I open the hood alone it twists and hooks on the opposite side. I have to give it a shove with my hip half way up.
That's when I appreciate my old E-Type hood.

LMAO

sorry super, i couldnt resist!! :D

ok, seriously, there are two problems. the first one is the files are in the wrong format for downloading into here and i dont know how to get them changed over. second, i was able to see the pictures, although VERY LARGE, and i still am unable to see what the problem is. you might have to find another owner in your area to help you look at the problem in person.

may i ask you this? last year my rear inner fenderwell had dropped and was rubbing in an odd way. i finally figured out that a couple of plastic pins were missing that held the inner fenderwell in place. i replaced the pins, and now all is great again. do you see anything like this?

sorry i was unable to help.

Its simply that the structure isn't ridgid enough for its size.
On the XKE's the whole thing was steel and there was no problem. In those days their racing versions were made of aluminum.
Dodge solved that problem with the SRT. I wouldn't worry about it. I like race cars.
