New owner... Just bought a 2000 RT/10. Didn't know the rear window needed a seperate key.

Is there a way to remove the window without a key ?

Where do I get a key ?

Any help appreciated!

Try ebay, search "Viper Key". A few of the vendors that have ignition keys also have rear window keys so an email to them is what you might have to do. Try Chuck Tator the "Viper Wizard" Tator's Dodge 914-763-3136

I just figured out (for anyone else with the same problem) that you can remove the rear window without a key by popping/pulling off the "latch cover" on the inside, removing the screw & manuvering the latch gently so the locking tab slips off.

GoldMan, I had a similar problem with my '01 RT-10. I got the key from local 5-star under P/N 4848 894AA. Used the old key and made a spare when the new blank came in. If you are starting with no key, you might need to purchase the lock assembly. I think that P/N is 4848 891AA. Check with your local Dodge boys.

My solution was solved by a local locksmith. My car came without a rear window key. We removed the lock mechanism from the inside. He made a key from an in-stock blank. Works well. Cost $30.

Just another option.

Best regards,

Ben
