How Long Does it Take to Get Delivery of New Viper?

The dealer was billed for my car the 31st of March. The car was built in December 2005. For those of you who had to wait, how long did it take? The owner of the dealership is a friend and he is checking on the car status...but since it comes special delivery...they can not track it like a regular car. They said usually 3 weeks from the time that the dealer gets billed.

This is the deal...my birthday is April 26th and I have a sale pending for my Z06 and Z28....so I am in a BIG ITCH for my new Coupe. I wanna be styling around our small town in my new car as soon as possible!

I spent two hours chating with the Dealership owner tonight...he said he would make sure I got copies and in some cases originals on all the dealer paperwork on the car. I can prep my own car....and remove all the plastic...etc....

Did any of you have the opportunity to get the build sheet on the car? Is it on the car or can you get it from dodge? My friend hasn't had any of the other owners who wanted this stuff and we figured other owners could help me get an idea of all the stuff I should get when I take the car.

Please give me your experiences with this!!!!

There are 2 places where you can habe a new viper within a week. Call Pappas Dodge in New Britian, CT or Fitzgeralds Motorsports in Laconia, New Hampshire. They ether have what you wnat in inventory or will locate one within a week. I walked into Pappas in bought my 2003, the exact car I wanted, right off the showroom floor for $78,600.00 minus $50,000.00 trade in on my 1987 Ferrari 380 GTS.

once a car is finished at CAAP it will not get shipped till a full car hauler towards that area of the country this could be as little as a week or 6-8 wks(don't know if this is good or bad news). Altough if your car is done you can make arrangements through Viper Headquarters to pick upthe car at the factory. I have had factory delivery for all 3 of my cars it is a great experience. i hope you get it soon you'll love it.

additionally about the only chance of getting a build sheet would be getting the car at the factory. they dont generally ship with the car.

KAYA I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL,MY 2003 WAS BUILT AND I WAS TRYING TO GET IT TO ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY ALSO,BUT THE SAME REASON THE TRUCK WAS NOT FULL COMING MY WAY,COULD HAVE WENT AND PICK IT UP AND DROVE IT BACK OR HAD IT TRAILER BUT DECIDED TO WAIT.SIX DAYS AFTER MY BIRTHDAY IT WAS DELIVERED.IT WAS WELL WOULD THE WAIT,CLOSED TOO 3 YEARS AND NO MAJOR PROBLEMS.

Build sheets are often in the cars, and they are not always with the ones at the Plant either --- it is a hit and miss proposition. Just figured that should be clarified.

We have well over 35 in stock, but the problem with yours is correctly being analysed as a shipping concern. Hard to figure why this year, but in certain parts of the country getting a full load can be an issue. Hang in there and hopefully your birthday will be a happy one.

Thanks...I talked to the dealer again today and he said he would order a 2nd car...he planned on buying two anyway...and this might increase the speed of my delivery. If he orders a second car then I will get a choice of colors. Its a fantastic deal from a good friend so I couldn't go somewhere else. The owner is one of my husband's best friends. He is going to try to get a blue car without stripes....that would be my preference...but heck...I like black almost as much and it's more sinister. I chose to get a car without stripes just because the two other Vipers in town (even though they are gen II) both have stripes...and I want to be different.
