how many drain holes for GTS rear hatch???

can anyone with GTS on here check their car and see how many drain holes on the back of the rear hatch? because for some reason when i open up my rear windshield, there are total of 3 drain holes there, the middle one is right on one of the white strip and totally look factory done......thanks

"blue pilot" since you have 3 drain holes, after you wash the car, does water get inside of the trunk?? because i remember someone told me there are supposed to be only 2 holes, just 1 on each side, so can anyone else check out their GTS for us?? pleaseeeeeeeeee

no water in my trunk area at all after washing or if I occasionally get caught in the rain. Whoever told you there were only supposed to be two drain holes probably didn't look close enough for the hole in the striped area.

ok now, my question is why the Hell the water gets inside of my trunk if i wash it or get caught in the rain?? so since then i taped over all 3 holes, and NO water at all, the water coming in from the middle hole i think, like the water dispears from outside, but somehow it got storaged in the spoiler or seomthing, then start leakin inside of the trunk, what do you guys think?

is there any drain rubber hoses attched to underside of those drain holes?? maybe one of the rubber hoses felt off??

I checked the factory service manual for a drain tube for the center drain hole. If it's there -- the factory manual doesn't mention or show it. I seem to remember some other users posting pictures of rear wing installs some time back, with the rear closure panel off the car. But, from memory, you couldn't see where the center drain hole was. I tried fishing around the center drain hole with a fine wire. I found that the wire was guided straight back 5 to 6 inches to the rear closure panel (which is outside the well or tub which makes up the trunk). If I bent the wire, it was straightened for that 5 to 6 inch run. There's a ledge about 1/2" in from the drain hole -- that could be where a tube is attached.

i remember someone told me the 96 and 97 has only 2 drain holes too, but anyone else got those years vipers can check it out for us, it will be great, and if it supposed to have 2 drain holes, then how did the middle hole end up there?? if someone got a picture of the rear panel off, please post on here, thanks

thanks dan, but we checked over it many times, and there is really nothing wrong, like you can see, the question is are there supposed to be 2 holes or 3 holes, if 2, then the problem is solved, becuase the middle drain hole shouldn't be there, that's where the water getting in from, but if for year 96 supposed to have 3, then we got some kinda of problem going on here

Take a rubber hose with a fitting that fits in the hole and attach it to each hole one at a time and fill it with water. The water should flow down the back of the panel in a chanel cast in to the body panel to a weep hole at the bottom.

97 - two drain holes. Make sure they flow/drain there should be very little water in the channel when you open the hatch.
