So... you have a modified and recalibrated OE PCM, eh? Running good? READ ME.

So, you have a car that is running tip top, right? Cool! Do you have a spare calibration file? Well, DO YOU?

I am seeing more and more this exact scenario play out:
"Hey DAN! My PCM is/has failed! I need a new one!"
-Sure, no problem!
"OK, only one thing... its a car that was built and calibrated by XYZ eleventeen years ago, and the guy that built it is retired/dead/doesnt have the files"
-................... ooof. YOURE SCREWED... and you will need a new calibration. Only problem is that very few people can do it, even fewer can do it well, even fewer can do it well this century, and even fewer than that will even do that type of a job on an unknown build for a total 1-off as they will lose money 9/10 times.

You guys out there with modified calibrations and no backup file paying attention yet? You are one medical emergency, one PCM glitch, and one bankruptcy away from having a car that doesn't run and a gazillion dollars of shipping/tuning labor trying to recover what you already have. Obviously, this does not apply to guys who have emailed copies and/or SCT tools with spare cals stored... but anyone with a directly flashed ECU [Like all you Hennessey guys!] are 100% in the crosshairs of this situation.

Which brings me to... VSP. We have the ability to take your GOOD CONTROLLER, and extract the calibration, and duplicate it on a Flash Drive, Emailed file, or otherwise... hell, can duplicate the entire controller and hand you a spare... to save your bacon if this ever happened to you. I thought it wise to offer this service, as I literally am in the middle of the above situation this afternoon with a customer who just P0601'd himself into having very few options, by no fault of his own.

This ONLY WORKS IF THE ORIGINAL MODULE IS UNCORRUPTED! Don't wait until *after* you are up the creek without a paddle to decide to protect your investment!

This is all easier said than done, and requires some module work and/or additional devices... but its 100% doable via multiple methods depending on the version.

I bought my 99 GTS from Bob Woodhouse along with many other cars over the years, great man was always so friendly and helpful to me, to the point now,,,,I bought one of the first high performance PCMs offered for the Viper and all I had to do is plug it in, the requirements for the PCM to give you maximum benefits were headers, straight tubes, no cats, Mopar roller rockers and it runs great, most importantly to me is that it doesn't read the down stream oxygen sensor so no more check engine light, Bob got a laugh when I told him I'm buying it just for no more check engine light still have the original PCM that came with the car. I am assuming that the performance PCM just has some tweaks to the timing and fuel and doesn't read the rear O2 sensor Oyea and no more skip shift.

Correct. Any of those off the shelf controllers and files I can duplicate in minutes, nothing that is worthy of spending extra money for a backup copy.

This is mainly for aftermarket head/cam and power adder cars that no longer have easy access to calibration files. Pretty much anything built by the big names of yester-year would fall into this category, even if they are still in business... but have no records or desire to work on Vipers anymore.
