I'm looking at replacing my stereo system.

Here's what I'm doing:

Replacing the stock head unit (1 1/2 DIN size) with 2 single DIN units (a head unit and a police scanner.)

Putting a single 8 inch subwoofer in the center console in place of the stock subwoofer (will need to create a custom sub enclosure for that space)

Replacing the stock speakers with similarly sized component speakers

Replacing the stock amplifier with another amplifier (mounted under the passenger seat.)

I bought a custom center console trim piece (without any speaker cut-outs) from Autoform to replace the current center trim piece, so the installer can cut whatever holes he needs to cut for the sub and won't have to fabricate a new center trim piece.

Any idea what this should cost me?
I was quoted $3,000 by the local stereo installer (just labor, no parts) which seems a bit high, but I know nothing at all about stereo installations.

If you can somehow get a quote without showing the audio installer the car or telling them what kind of car you have, it will be at least half that ;)

Yea , tell them you want all that in your Stealth , then show up in the Viper and tell them you want to try the same thing in your sister's car first.
