I've been running the 12.0 index for a couple of years now, but looking for more bragging rights and maybe fewer sandbaggers. How much power are you guys running to go 11.0, and how are you getting there? blower, nitrous or bolt-ons? How competitive are you with your current power level?
thanks

about 550 rwhp and your right there (via blower alone, nitrous alone, or if you want to keep it a n/a car; heads and cam should do it easily)

was doing 11.4 with just headers, catback and roller rockers with 465RWHP. now SC'd with 550rwhp and should be in high 10's but havent tracked it yet.

Of course it depends on if you are trying to hit 11.0 on Pilots, or with drag radials/slicks.

With DRs, 550RWHP should work.

I would think just adding slicks and skinnies and Bolt Ons would do the trick pretty easy.

Some people do not realize you can run slicks in any class.

agree the tires are a big factor. with 520/535 I am running high 10's on slicks and 11.0's on dr's.

You're right where I want to be. Are you running a heads/cam package? You can't get to 520/535 without going deep into the motor, can you?
I run 12.0 in spring with pilots, it takes dr's to get me there in the summer.

I do have heads and cam, BUT with just a "great" set of heads and your 97 cam you will be at those numbers.

I don't know if you were at the V10 Nats in Bowling Green in '03, but there was a guy from OHIO with ONLY bolt ons and slicks whose car would run 11.0's. He has gotten some sub 1.4 60 foots and after that the car does the rest.

So in other words obviously the driver has alot to do with it and so do the tires. There are many cars with just exhaust mods and slicks running mid 11's all day long, so it is possible to achieve the low 11's without going into the motor.

those time seem too fast for 405 rwhp. Was that a dynojet or Mustang dyno? I think about 400 on a mustang equals closer to 430 on a dynojet, or something like that. What was your 60'?

I seems that 500hp should get me to 11.0. $3000 could buy some nice headwork, posibly from Greg Goode. Headers, rockers, and Vec2 would cost at least $4000, but the sound would definately improve.

Not sure what type dyno it was, but pretty sure it wasn't a mustang dyno, my car will hook very well on the kumho's, i think my best 60' was about a 1.70. Look in my photos there is a pic of the time slips, I would have never thought 405 would run 11.60s but i believe time slips more than dynos! Of coures the track and elevation have a lot to do with times also, and i believe my car makes more than 405 rwhp too. These times were at Atlanta dragway.

With a 5# pulley and bolt ons I make 563 Hp and 605 TQ. On Drag radials and blower only I have gone 10.84 at 128 mph, however that was in near perfect conditions, normally car would run 10.99s to 11.10s on the drag radials. On the juice with the blower we have to pull back on the tune but the car was a solid 10.50-10.70s car in Bradenton. On a 50 shot it makes 650 HP and 745 TQ.
