Hello,
Does anyone know how to adjust the window inboard or outboard so it does not hit the frame when closing.

I have a 2013 Viper and when you close the driver side door and the window rolls slightly up, it hits the frame.

It is not the up and down that needs adjusting but the in and out. I think it is called inboarding but I have not been able to find any posts or articles on how to adjust it.

Right now I have to push the window in as it is closing to keep it from hitting.

Not sure if this a common issue or not.

Thank you!

Your window regulator is bad. They can be sent out and rebuilt to last longer.

I may have the same problem. Passenger window on my 2008 works fine until you close the door and the window hits something on the automatic close and makes an annoying sound. would this also be the regulator?

I'm somewhat surprised nobody mentioned before, but on the Gen V at least there definitely are inboard/outboard, fore/aft, and up/down adjustments that can be made to the windows. Even after replacing regulators this is something that will almost undoubtably need to be done for a perfect fitment. The process is detailed in the service manual and is fairly straightforward, albeit an annoying truth for any frameless door/window typically.

I just replaced the entire regulator assembly on my 2015. Despite the adjustments, I could not get the travel to go as high as the original assembly. The window barely makes it under the lip of the weather stripping. Also, the old motor is made in France. New one in made in Mexico.

Dealer ordered another unit under warranty, will replace next week.

Also, I do not fully understand the schematic, specifically the points of measurement in the diagram listed. Is there a manual or assembly book I can look at for better interpretation? The above pictures are not resonating with me at all, and I cannot understand the perspective of the diagram. Which line is the window? Which is the inner door and outer door? What am I looking at? No clue what those photos represent.

Thank you

It's been quite a while since I adjusted mine, but the whole adjustment procedure is listed out in the service manual with way more explanation of how to make all the adjustments. It took a bit to orient myself but it's relatively straightforward once you play around a bit. From a purely physical standpoint I'm unsure of how the motor's assembly/manufacture would affect this unless the motor is simply too weak to raise the window any further, but that seems fairly implausible from my perspective based on how the assembly operates. There are up/down adjustments with a few bolts and I'd be pretty surprised if that wouldn't solve it for you. (I can't post the manual pages here publicly since the factory service manual isn't free)

Also a side note for you, the factory window regulators and window bosses fail like it's their primary job thanks to the design/materials. You really should get DSE's replacement bosses and to also have the regulators rebuilt/reinforced by Power Window Repair in AZ or someone else that does this same basic job. It's common enough of a failure that that company has a Viper-specific page. It is not a matter of IF they break, it's WHEN they break. As of earlier this year, it's about $650 per side for the rebuilding, and is objectively worth every penny to avoid the future headache that you simply will have if you just use the factory part as-is. I'm not trying to dissuade you from using what you have as you have it, but just a PSA because doing the job for the 3rd/4th time is less than desirable.
