YES there are specific tie-down points...oval holes in frame rails ...two in front, two in rear into which you need to place a special device called "R" hook ( available at $6.00 apiece from Snappin' Turtle at 1-800-TIEDOWN) to which you can SAFELY hook high quality straps. By using "R" hooks, you won't damage frame with a regular hook. Most like to cross straps in an "X" fashion (due to the arrangement of my trailer, I use 8 straps per Viper) to minimize motion. Is trailer open or closed??

Good luck,

Hey Guys,

Steve's 100% right about using the correct hook in your frame. And for those of you that prefer an integrated system here's another alternative. Try this link:

We made these tie downs after many years of struggling with securing my Viper (or any other car) on a trailer. The "J", "T", or "R" hooks as they are commonly referred too are sewn into the strap and we use shortened ratchet assemblies to clear the bottom of our lowered cars. These make the tie down process a snap.

Best Regards,

While the subject of trailers is being discussed,I am thinking about buying an enclosed trailer for my '00 GTS.

I dont know for sure what will work, and what wont.Any and all opinions and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Trailer basics. Bed must be 18' long. Minimum 80" wide (between wheel wells). Height from bed to top of fenders must be under 15" (or your doors won't open).
End of lesson one.
Tony's picture is taken in my front yard. Tony knows about towing cross country. Listen to him.
