I need warranty advice

I am wondering what you think about extended warranty. My 3 year portion of the factory warranty, on my 2003, runs out in March but I will still have 4 years left on the powertrain warranty. My question is, would it be worth it to extend the warranty (at the rates quoted below, by my dealer). What sort of repairs might come up that the powertrain warranty doesn't cover, that would warrant the premium they are asking? I have put the rates in US dollars.
2 year /60,000 mile is $3,000 ($2590 Canadian) plus 7% tax
4 year/70,000 mile is $4176 ($3570 Canadian) plus tax

It seems to me that this is a bit much and there is no way I would spend that much on repairs considering I still have the powetrain warranty.
Any advice on what repair issues I might face that would warrant the premiums would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't spring over a $1000 to cover the non-powertrain items on a Viper.

I decided the 7/70 powertrain warranty was the right overall value. I figure I can cover the non powertrain problems that might arise. The ABS is likely the biggest $ risk.

That's the way I am feeling about this. I know the ABS would be a sh't load to repair but the cost of the warranty is also a sh't load!

if you plan on keeping the car it's a good investment, and transferable to the next owner for a fee(i think around a $100-200, one time), and is cheap insurance if a trans or other big mech items go bad it pays for itself in one repair. i bought ithe max car 7/70 with no deduct.

I would check with some other Dealers in Canada and you should be able to do a wrap program, which gives you 4 more years and a total of 60,000 miles from day one. You want to get the new vehicle contract, and the prices do seem very high, compared to what we can sell in the States. You are correct that you must buy a contract in Canada, so check around - you should be able to work it out.

Wow, Canada must have the Viper tax X 2.

I just checked my email regarding what I was quoted, the Maxcare/Viper/$0 Deductible:
7/50K = $1590
7/60K = $1785
7/75K = $2210
I haven't bought it yet, waiting to see how many miles I drive the first year.

Right off the bat there is a $1300 surcharge because it is a Viper - then they add the price of the warranty on top of that! That's with a $100 deductable to boot...
