Hi All,
I have been on this board for a while and finally bought my first Viper.
It is a 97 red GTS. I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips
on things you would have done diferrently if you would have known. I have
owned many fast cars before and as soon as I am drive them off, I see what the
baby can do. But for some reason I do not feel the same way about my new toy.
I have never driven a Viper so I am going to be tottaly new to the driving characteristics of this car. What do you guys think? Should I treat it like a diferrent animaly when I first start driving it and be cautious. I do not want to get bitten.

Congrats!
1st if you are tall, get a seat lowering kit immediately. That's what I wish I had done, it took me 2 Vipers, and 3 years until I heard of them and couldn't believe it when I got it! :2tu:

You better treat it like a different animal. But more important use a common sense approach, know your limits, and surroundings when testing them!

Have fun!!

Whatch the simultaneous hard accelerator / steering wheel input, or you'll be looking at where you just came from or worse with wheel/tire or body damage.

Congrats and Welcome!!!
Another Southern Cal. Viper !!!
Red Vipers are known to be the most powerful so be careful.
Just remember to have the wheel pointed straight before you mash the loud pedal.. and be careful when going up driveways and such...the first time you scrape the front facia (and you will) the sound is sickening...
See ya on Ortega!!!
Cheers,
