I would love to get rid of the original pads on my car for some that don't leave dust all over my rims. I didn't know that was possible???
Are the green ones you have, the answer???
Or does anyone know of others?

EBC Green's are your answer...no dust, no squeal, but you will notice that they don't stop as good as the stock pads.

Unless you track. I still had dust all over mine and they don't perform as well under hard conditions. But otherwise good pads.

I have had Greens, and I will never use them again. Sure they produce less dust.. but they ALSO produce an equally apparent reduction in stopping ability.

Just wash your rims, leave your brakes to do what they should do... STOP YOU.

I dont think they are dangerous, but honestly, it makes it so you need to apply more force to the brake pedal to stop. And then at max force, they definetly dont bite as hard as Brembos (the stock pads).

Just my 2 cents, and I have 54k miles on my car and have tried all pads from Brakeman 3, PFC01's, Brembos, and EBC Greens. Stick with stock, great compromise between BITE and brake dust.

I put the greens on my Final Edition because I couldn't stand the loud screaming of the stock pads. I don't drive it much and I will never track it (I use the '96 for that). Now I have absolutely no noise from the pads and the dust is not an issue for me. I use a small duster after I drive it each time so there is never a build-up on the wheels.

First like Jon said your braking is reduced considerably and the part about "no dust" is wrong. There is dust, much less than the stock pads, but there still is dust.
As far as the OEM pad.
I don't like the price of the stock pad and I don't like the way the pads break away from the backing plate when under extreme use like a track. And I don't like the way they squeal non stop.
That being said, I use EBC Greens on the street for everyday driving. I keep in mind that they don't stop as well as my track pads. So I keep a set of Brakeman 3's on my shelf incase I head to the track.

just watch you wear w/ the EBC pad. stock pads wear at a very linear rate and last a long time. The EBC will wear at an exponential rate and if both stock and EBC are at 50% left of the pad, the EBC will wear out much much sooner not a problem as long as you keep an eye on them so you dont need new rotors.

EBC Green pads are almost dustless, but compared to the stock pads, they ARE dustless.

TOM.... nice of U to post the photos for the good of the order....Thanks.

PartsRack carries virtually every (good) pad for the Viper, and having owned 11 of them, and put at least 25000 track miles in, I have to say this with all confidence:

THERE IS NO PERFECT PAD FOR BOTH STREET AND TRACK. Especially if you drive in wet conditions as well, as I do.

EBC is a GREAT choice for the Cruise-In Owner, who HATES dust and squeek. The Kevlar compound is kind and gentle to rotors (Unless you wear it down to the backing plate!) It does OK for AutoX and for an occasional 1-3 hot laps. Does NOT do well for 5+ lap sessions that heat rotors above 800.

I absolutely HATE OEM (Brembo) pads... after becoming delighted with BrakeMan3 compound, (and not liking 4 or 6) I had an occasion to be forced to use OE at a treck event. It was scary bad (vs BM#) in Turn One in my opinon... could not get them off fast enuf. There are several pads better (and cheaper) than OE in my opinion.

BRAKEMAN 3! PFC 01 are very good, but expensive and dont have a rear fittment.
Some guys like Porterfields.. I used to, til I tried PFC and BM3. EBC also has 3 harder semi-mettalic compounds, Red, Yellow, and Blue....the latter for track-only.

DOCUMENTATION: EBC does have GREEN documentation to show tip-in, or onset braking torque, tested with a decelerometer, to show 7% better stopping power vs OE when the pads are in the under-500 degree range...... They stop good once or twice from 160 mph (for example), but they lack the endurance to be used for longer track sessions. REDS are a mid-way pad, higher temps and torque, but still lack the BM3, PFC, (or OE) endurance for long track days.

EBC Greens = Less dust...much less for me...but not no dust. I love mine and don't think the braking is such a problem. It's not like I'm sliding into cars around town but I'm not trying to track the car on the highway either.

WELL SAID :2tu: THANKS FOR POSTING

i hate seeing someone state something that can not be documented and it being
just a opinion but they try to state it as fact.

I've had EBC greens on both my old '95 and my current '00. I've definitely not had any *reduction* in stopping ability over stock pads, and, in fact, have noticed a great improvement over stock pads, ESPECIALLY in near-lockup situations. Going to greens over stock reduced my autocross time significantly, just because I could modulate them at lockup much better than stock.

It seems that some people had better stock pads than I did (in two different Vipers, though, so I have my doubts), based on the number of people that feel that EBC greens somehow reduce your stopping ability.

Wow, I actually agree with Jon (2002 ACR) on this one... I've had EBC's on two Vipers (I'm currently on my fifth). I'll take OEM's ANYDAY over the EBC's. I've had several close calls with them. Yes, they work better after you heat them up. Sounds great until you run into someone leaving the garage.

The do modulate better than OEM's, so I'd actually prefer EBC's for an occassional autox. I'll take dust over decreased performance, though.

Oh, and I've probably logged close to 40k miles on all my Vipers...

90k on two vipers, mostly with EBC Greens, so do I get points for more than double the mileage? I still feel EBC Greens stop better than stock - I can lock them up if I want, and I don't percieve any increased force required to stop (and, in fact, feel there is less pedal force required).
