Some people spray nitrous or co2 on their intercooler before a run to drop temperatures. What about making something that would run full-time to cool the intercooler? Could you cool an intercooler by putting it into a heatshielded enclosure pumped with either closed circuit or open circuit air conditioning? Or would the amount of heat built up over time outweigh the cooling capacity of the air conditioner (especially in closed circuit)?

I am coming off of two turbocharged cars (one of which I had three different ICs on) and have learned that a big front-mount IC can have an efficiency of over 95% which will allow it to get the intake charge temperature within 10F of ambient. That is so effective there is no need to mess with anything else. No way would trying to run a AC unit be power-cost effective. If you really wanted to bother, you could run an air-to-water system, but again, probably not worth the bother unless you have packaging concerns (like a supercharged AMG Mercedes does). If you are drag only, you could do an air-to-water system and use a dry iced box to super cool the coolant, but man a Viper is so fast with a blower - why bother?
