Anyone have any suggestions for interior Mods to improve looks and function?

I've done shift knob and a few other add ons but the interior just still looks so plain.

Do you guys like the MGW AC knob pieces? I am undecided, they kind of remind me of a mustangs knobs

You have an Commemorative, at least it has the silver center console and blue stitching everywhere! Try a stock all black everything interior...I thought about sprucing things up, but everytime I see someone do that, it looks like add ons just slapped everywhere. The only way, in my opinion, to make it look 'better', would be to leather wrap the plastic pieces.

Here is mine so far.

LED lighting throughout, Lloyds floor mats, MGW shift knob, shift ring and new shift boot. MGW climate control knobs, silver bezel/console with MGW gauge rings and the ever important EJECT button! ;)

I have more plans over the winter when I can find time. The modified parts are extras that were purchased, the OEM bezels/HVAC control/Start button, shifter etc are all stored away safely.

No way! I have the same Eject lighter sticking up like that haha
I would never have guessed that anyone else did that! I bought the Lighter back in 1999 for my dads Viper and held onto it all these years and put it in my 05.

I also have the same knob and cup holder bezel.

It looks like you did LEDs in the HVAC and the leg areas or is that coming from the rear view mirror?
Do you like the HVAC knobs? I thought they looked like too much on my interior and from a mustang, but they look nice on yours

Yes it's a commemorative but the spice they added is a joke, it's still plain and boring as heck!

Yea, all of of the interior lights are replaced with LEDs, under dash, mirror, hatch, glove box, cluster, gauges, and licence plate light. I like the LEDs a lot. I will be doing the tail lights and corner lights over the winter. I'm not in love with the MGW knobs but I like them. I think they fit nicely with the other MGW accys and silver bezel/console.

What I did on my car, I did the mamba red doors and dash, did the seat all leather and alcantara but the best mod was my steering wheel flat bottom in alcantara. Now I have a new carbom fiber steering wheel so the alcantara one is for sale. few pics.

I want to know about the carbon fiber steering wheel if you don't mind sharing the "who, what, and where" of it.

I always wanted to see a Gen 3 with a leather wrapped dash. I think it would look extraordinarily good

Sure, turn the Radio into an RB1. Then change all the RB1 bulbs into Blue LEDs.

I also have the all-LED interior as well like ACRucrazy.

You are the led king, I remember your thread of course.

How much does the headunit cost?

Is there soldering involved on radio and hvac?

If you would like a set of bezels for the 4 gauges pm me, I don't have blue but you could paint them.
I have red, green, black etc

HVAC is plug and play, the radio requires taking apart the face and soldering.

Yeah, the blue LEDs (actually white with the blue rubber covers) is a major pain with soldering. I had to redo it a few times and test fit about 30 times... one of those things that you start and wish you didn't, but its too late to turn back.

You might consider painting the radio and shift bezel.
But before doing that why not install a Double Din radio?
Then forget the "eject" button and use that area for your Nitrous arm and purge switches.
Remove the cup holder and install your nitrous pressure gauge.
Then install a cup holder in the center console box lid.
Then add LED gauge lights.
While you have the LED's handy ya might as well light up those Nitrous bottles.
Don't forget the headlight halo's and Oh, under the intake.

The RB1 on eBay is ~$499, depending on condition. Mine was new, the latest version, and I paid $499. Not saying the RB1 is anything special, but the NAV is nice. No other features though, its old.

Cubican. How much do you want for the Alcantara wheel and do you have any pics of it?

Plug and play. You need to make sure you have the GPS antenna as well (some people sell it with the antenna, some don't). Same for NAV DVD - some include the DVD, some don't. You also want the LATEST RB1 and the near latest NAV DVD.

I always direct people here: http://www.wjjeeps.com/nav.htm

Look towards bottom for RB1 and DVD part numbers / revisions.

The GPS antenna can be mounted in the dash above the radio because there is only plastic in the dash, so the signal is not blocked. It doesn't need to be on the roof or anything external.

Just don't expect much in terms of Bluetooth, etc... but the NAV works well, and it spices up the dash A LOT. You can connect a Bluetooth receiver to it through CD Changer input. iSimple I believe, but its a bit complicated... haven't crossed that bridge yet to offer too much in the way of detail. Maybe next Spring.

That is really cool. Is there at least a stereo in on this one or easier way to hook up iphone compared to the stock unit?

I don't see one in the pics from ebay!

To really set the car off inside rather than focus on the dash, check with Venzano Viper custom interiors. He will customize your seats and side panels to the colors you wish. His work is awesome and can be done in leather. Makes your Viper one of a kind and he can go mild to wild. www.venzanoviper.com
