Transaction went great. Smooth & simple.

I apologize for not updating you sooner, but as soon as I got the car I had to leave for a few days on a business trip. The trip was pointless as all I could think about was this car anyway!

The car so far runs perfect & all gages are where they should be. I've only put about 150 miles on it so far, but eveything seems tight. No rattles, A/C blows cold, tires are brand new all the way around, cd player works great, brakes seem new, clutch feels good, doesn't leak oil. The 3" exhaust & hi-flow cats sound incredible...

Even has a few extras the previous owner never even mentioned!: 10 disc changer in the trunk, 2 amps, new Sony XPlod speakers all the way around, door poppers, 6-point belts, & a custom alarm.

Exterior is in amazing condition for what I paid. A few scratches on the rollbar, a tiny nick on the trunk, and the lower front facia is scratched. Very minor & normal for the year & mileage.

The only part of the car that will need some TLC is the dash. That material shows every nick and scratch and looks nasty. My only project so far this winter will be to re-paint the dash black and give the interior a whole new look. Also, the plastic bracket around the stereo needs to be replaced. It has a slight crack in it.

A few cosmetics seem to be my only issues. The engine is tight and feels like it should. I've compared it to my father's '94 Roe monster & it feels equivalent as far as handling.

I even had a friend put it on a lift for me. Nothing looks suspicious or questionable. I'm gonna take a trip this weekend to Tator's & let Chuck check it out. He's about an hour away so it will give me a chance to get on it & see how it handles. The torque on this car amazes me everytime I get in it. For 25K, this is a badass car.

All I got was thumbs up & praise yesterday as I took it for a spin locally. I honeslty feel that I get as much respect and attention as if I was driving a 100K Ferrari.

Oh, and one more thing. (Great thing) There was a misprint in the post I bought it from, the car does not have 78K but 61K!!! Typo! Love it when that happens!

My father & I dry washed the entire car last night. Looks twice as good!! Even the 3 spokers look great. I never cared too much for the 3 spoke rims until these arrived. I can honestly say they are mint. I searched for a scratch on them yesterday. They may have been re-painted, I can't tell. They do look very easy to clean.

Pics will be here soon. Very soon!!!!!!

How about that! A good gen1 for $25k. So much for the guys that want $12k+ more for a gen1. Those days are over.

Buy some five spoke polished wheels from a 97 Viper. Look on Ebay. You can sell you painted ones there too. It really makes the car look better. At least that's what I think.

About the dash, don't paint it. Buy a black one from Tator or JohnB. Get the dash, door handle surrounds and radio surround. Probably about $500 or less. It will look great and they are easy to put on. The flat black will hold up better than the soft finish you have.

Good luck with your car. I paid $25k for mine about two years ago. It needed a lot of small to medium things fixed. Your's sound's much better.

That's great for you man, best of luck with it. My '94 is about flawless, but for $25k, I'd have happily accepted the compromise and extra miles.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the feedback.

I think the black dash may be a little tougher to find than I originally thought. The more I call around, the more it seems this is a popular thing to do. Haven't come across too many owners who were actually fond of the stock one.

I tried to take some nice pics today, as its nice & clean, but the weather up here now is cloudy. Tomorrow should be better...

I know many have said it before, but pics just don't do these snakes any justice...

This is a great story. Imagine owning a Viper in good condition for the same price as a new Miata. Congratulations!

Well its been about 2 months now & I am 100% satisfied. I put about 1500 miles on it since mid October and it drives perfect.

I took it to Tators earlier this month and had Chuck check it over. Only the front brakes needed to be replaced. The head gaskets had also been replaced so that was a huge relief.

The mileage seems higher for Vipers (60K), but geez its only 6K a year.

Just wanted to update those who were curious of how it would ultimately turn out...

Thanks to all those who helped :2tu:

These machines rock :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
