I see that horse power freaks has them on clearance on their site. I thought they didn't have them ready for public use yet.

I've heard there's been problems so far trying to get the car to idle with the AEM.

Fishtail,

Please quote your source. I'm curious as to where the info is coming from. I haven't seen much in either direction regarding the AEM so please do provide your info. My curiosity is sparked by the desire to see MORE than one solution for overall management of the Viper.

I dont know why horse power freaks has them on clearance, and a better question would be where they got the units in the first place.

At this point the units are not available for sale yet, very soon but not yet. All the testing and experimenting has been done, and from what I can its fantastic. The wait right now has something to do with case manufacturing, I did not get an exact date for release but soon.

Fishtail,

The slight idle hang up was dealt with after the first beta box. My car has been simply awsome, and who ever told you that idle has anything to do with realease is incorect.

I have had an AEM unit on my car for about a month now, and it is by far the best mod yet. As I posted on some earlier reports my car run a sold 190 degrees in 100+weather in stop and go. No viper does that even with big radiators, fan kits, cooling ducts, etc.... Mine accomplishes it with stock equipment with the highspeed fan never even clicking on.

The car idles like its a creampuff now, the NGR is almost gone. And the idle sound pulse is much better. Acceleration is smooth and the power gain is noticible. Traction control works great, just needs tunning to your specific traction limitations.

Ignore the spelling I just woke up.

I was just going to post the same question... Is it timing adjustments, or fuel mix?

Cooling a V10 in 100deg heat is quite a challenge.

Fast Freddy,

I dont know what it is to be honest. My car was running just like every other viper 190-220, up down like a yo yo. Fans kick in temp drops, fans turn off they fly back up.

After we installed the AEM unit no one even noticed the temp till I started driving it home in LA traffic. And as usual just glanced at the temp guage several times, and noticed it was at 190 every time. So I starteed looking at it constantly and it never moved more than 5 degrees or so.

Called AEM and they had no idea this was a side effect, the only thing we can come up with is that the factory tune was crap, for whatever reason. Next thing I thought was that its fan constantly at hi speed, and it is not.

Hope this helps

Its because your fan is set to kick on at 190 now instead of 215. Most of the AEM base maps I've seen kick the fans on earlier than stock.
