Is there a trick to getting wires through the door grommets?

Trying to run new speaker wire through the doors and the snake I am using keeps getting hung up once I get through the grommet and into the wall of the car. any ideas?

Pull the grommet out of the wall, then use a cut down hanger (tape over the end and tape the end of the wire to the tip of the hanger, then pull it through,

Yeah, a coathanger works perfect.

I used a straightened paper clip

add a little dish soap and it will glide through.
