Any reason why I can't jack the rear of my car up from under the differential? Makes placing jack stands under the rear easy.

Never a good idea to jack the car up from the diff.

That is what I was looking for. Someone to definately tell me it was wrong so I wouldn't go ahead and do it and cause damage. But what is the reasoning?

Has anyone ever known a Viper to be damaged due to jacking the diff.?

ALUMINUM

The Diff is made to keep forces in, NOT out! Why take the chance in damaging it!

I use two jacks at the end of the frame rail in the rear and then I put my jack stands just in front of them.
