I just bought a 00'Supercharged GTS ACR and don't know anything about Vipers, I also have a 02'Zo6 and know all about them. My questions are what is the history of ACR and how many made etc. How to tell if it is an original and how they differ from a stock GTS...Thanks

Welcome to the wonderful world of ACRs! For build stats, and some good information on changes year to year, check out the International Viper Registry.

International Viper Registry

The ACR has the following features that differed from the GTS coming off the assembly line:

lightweight BBS wheels
Koni or DS adjustable coilover suspension (brand depending on year)
no foglights
no radio or A/C (though most ACRs sold had these items added back in via the "comfort group" option.
factory 5 point racing harnesses
Smooth intake tubes and K&N air filters (good for a marketed 10 BHP increase)
ACR badging on the hood and plaque on the center console
ACR oil filter adapter (does not shut off flow of oil to cooler at low speeds like the GTS one does)

pics and description of mods would be nice. blowers are always a good thing. I have an ACR also and am toying with the idea of a ROE.

PartsRack has a video of the 1st GTS ACR in 1999 at CAAP.
We have press kits from 1998 announcing the 1999 release.
I owned one mee-self, and would be happy to discuss the pros-cons and Viper passion with you, and most any afternoon avoiding Mondays. There were 3 important recalls affecting your car, one is ACR-specific

Please call, and CONGRATS

Regarding that ACR oil filter adapter, my Service Manual says oil is fed to both the oil cooler and engine. On non ACR models, the oil cooler is bypassed until oil pressure is above 30psi.

I think for cold, and cold weather starts, I'd actually prefer the oil cooler was bypassed on my ACR to get oil pressure to the engine asap..

In the viper registry the vin code is not there for a 2000, how do I tell the difference between the ACR filter adapter and the stocker one, my car has the harnesses, the decal on the side, the name plate on the console, no foglights,BBs Wheels, big Brembo brakes, Koni coil overs,I just want make sure it is not a fake...Thanks

It sounds like you've got the real thing, but here's what I would do....Call Chuck Tator of Tators Dodge (914-763-3136). Along with being one of the nicest guys on the planet, Chuck can look up your VIN # for you in the Dodge database and give you the verification you seek and probably some good historical information on the car.

For what it's worth, if you join the VCA before the end of the year, you beat the rate increase that comes January 1 ($100 vs. $115)....Hope you decide to join us!
