a rear main seal leak. It is so bad that my clutch barely works (covered with oil). I can put my emergency brake on, let out my clutch in first gear, and the car wont move or stall! It just keeps running in gear and not moving.

So, my question is does anyone have any idea of the repair cost for something like this? Also, has anyone else had this problem with only 12000 miles on their car? Thanks in advance.

The best person to chime in would be Tatar. Basically you have to pull the flywheel and drop the oil pan. On the other hand, it could be a leaking slave and that would require pulling the trans, however, you will have to replace the clutch due to the oil. When I changed my clutch I had a small leak, but, it was thru one flywheel bolt. I put some thread sealant on the flywheel bolts when I reassembled.

The clutch and the seal are going to be about $400-$500 in parts. Take a look at the clutch resevoir and see if it is down, that will tell you what the problem is.

Jack is right, check the slave cylinder res.
The flywheel bolts have to be replaced as they do have factory sealant on them.

If it is a rear seal, tranny and flywheel have to come off as rear seal is actually a plate with seal attached. the LUK clutches on ebay are just like factory and work great.
