Just lost my Power steering pulley

Out for some fun today and why'll pulling into the flow of traffic ( accelerating into the gap ) I heard a loud BANG. As I looked in my rear view mirror I saw parts bouncing out from underneath my car. Pulled over, looked under the hood to find my belt wadded up in a ball and no power steering pulley. Walk down the road and picked up about thirty small pieces of what was left. It didnt fall off, IT BLEW UP. *** !!! Why ??? Has this happened to someone else ?

Ha! Welcome to my world. This happened to me as I was revving the motor and looking directly at the pulley(checking a weird noise at the time). Search for March pulleys, they sell the metal replacements. The stocker is only $20-25, but I don't want that to happen again.
