Hello everyone

My stock shifter has always been so that I can turn it left and right and also I can lift it up out of position. So today I got my new MGW gripper and start to take the stock shifter and the panels away so I could see why I can turn and lift up the stock shifter. I found that there is no threads on the part that are attached between the shifter and the pins that goes down to the gearbox. Is that correct or is it something wrong?

Here comes pictures what im trying to explain to you

thanks

regards

Tomas

Oops. Looks like you have separated the isolator from the shaft. I believe they were intended to be adhered permanently. If this was loose before then it either failed or someone tried to remove it before and did so incorrectly.

Not sure if you can have it reattached. Difficult task for an adhesive. An alternative is to replace it. Either with an original type or with an aftermarket. One of the guys on the web site sells a direct threaded replacement (no isolator). Do a search and you may be able to locate it. I believe he is in St. Louis if that helps.

Thomas,

I have a stock shifter that is OK. You can have it for free.
Just pay shipping to "Frozen Hawaii".... Let me know if you want it.

Or do what I did.

Ditch the whole shifter for a B&M Rippie shifter. Nice short throws.... for only few hundred bucks, I like it!

I quess the same way I did. Born there...
I had enough of the state controlled bulls**t in Finland and moved out in the late 80's.

Never been happier ever since. I could never own a Viper in Finland. Besides I think since Thomas already has the only one in his posession, alternatives are kind of low...
I had a Vette there, results with chicks are similar than with a Lambo/Ferrari here. Being around 25 at that time, it must have been the best years of my life, Hah, Haa!!
Aland has LOTS!! of very fast american cars, kind of interresting for a small island.
Thomas, what is the reaction you get with the Viper in Aland?

Hello Lauri

The reaction with the Viper in Aland are just positive. I have also a Supercharged Vette in my garage, but that car is so boring. I bought that car 95. Yes we have a lot of american cars here on this Island, About 20 Corvettes, 40 Camaros and Firebirds, lots of Mustangs and also lot of old musclecars
