Just The Good Ole Boys..Never Meaning No Harm

Got me some help today from some Good Ole Boys. Marc Lublin and Chuck Tator. They both ROCK! My car was running pretty crappy and didnt respond as well as it used to when hitting the gas. It kinda almost hesitated before it kicked in. Marc and Chuck helped me solve my problem and it was the simplest thing. After Marc went over my car and hooked up his "Error CODE READING" gadget we finally decided to take apart the air filters since there was really no error except some emmisions evaporating code and Marc said it was no biggie and shouldn't affect the way the car performs. Called chucks and said its something to do with the gas cap and a vacuum. Well we took off the K&N filter and boy they looked ugly. The were leaves and lil branches all over em and sticky black oily stuff. Took the air box off, took if for a spin and there it was again. It was alive and there was no hesitation. Bought some cleaning and oil stuff made by K&N. Washed my filters, let them dry, put the oil on em and stuck em back in the air box. Car sounds better and moves again. The clean air filters make a BIG DIFFERENCE. SO ya thanks guys for all your HELP. Im a happy camper again. Chuck still want that appointment in June for my hop ups..

I had that same exact thing happen to me and as a matter of fact i JUST fixed it, the same way you did on the advise of Sean Roe, my filters were fine but my boc has the sticky stuff too no idea what it was and also the vacume element was shot i had to replace it now the car sounds great and no more hesitation

BTW i had the same error code and i had just changed my gas cap as well code 0455 large emmissions evap code

We had the same EXACT problem

When I first bought my car, I got the same error code and it turned out to be the filters as well. Mine were stock and look like they hadn't been changed from the factory (I bought it last fall....so that's 6 years of build up). Before I discovered this, I took the car to a drag strip for the first time and ran several runs. I changed the filters shortly after and ran .2 faster. So, you can imagine that clogged filters like that rob at least as much as the K&Ns add.

well i currently live in CT and NY when in CT its norwalk and when in NY its queens. No i don't think we ever met but our cars sure had the same idea lol
