Anyone have experience installing this piece of crap? The box just doesn't fit and becomes deformed as the holes are in the wrong place. I re drilled them into slots and it is still deforming to the point that the cone air filter won't fit. To make matters worse, the instructions require you to remove (aka, saw off) the rear mount used by the original air box...so I am committed now. I plan to do some more surgery to the airbox today, but I think it is going to get trash canned. What induction system can I use that doesn't require the single rear mount?

Re: RE: K & N Carbon Fiber Airbox Kit

Is it me or is that a LOT OF $$$ for a few horsepower???

How much more of a gain is that going to give you than going with 2 S&B filters in the stock airbox?

Thanks,

Howard

BTW - Good luck getting this worked out.

Too steep for me.. I offered to trade for a 30hp 'speed secret' but Elite didn't bite.

I am going to weld the support back in re install the original. K&N may make good filters, but their air box simply ****!

The reason it does not fit is because its for 96-98 Gen 2's. From your sig I see you have a 99, and it will not fit because if the redesigned radiator.

Besides all that you will loose hp from putting it on rather than picking any up. Been there done that, save yourself some cash.
