Looking for 3\" turn-out tips

I have a B&B 3" exhaust system with H/F cats ... i think I want to ditch the cross-over, and put on some 3" side-exit tips (the B&B tips stink anyway)

I don't think I want a whole set-up since I already have the cats and the muffler ... just the turn-out tips

Any ideas would be appreciated

Get some 3" mandrel bends and find a good fab/welding shop that can fabricate what you want using your exhaust. I'll bet there are many here on this forum that have the skills your job requires. Wish I did. If it was me, I would go to my custom bike builder. He's welding up 3" bends, etc all the time for custom exhausts on his choppers. Can't tell once the welds are ground and polished, plated. I realize this modifies the tune of your exhaust, but sometimes looks must compromise performance, IMHO. Please, no debates...IMHO ok?

You said any ideas right? Good luck with your project.

Re: Looking for 3

We are working on a turnout for both 2-1/2" and 3" pipes that will mount to the rear rubber mounting holes that hold the exhaust tip of the stock crossover. So far we have designed the bracket, turnout, and are now working on a polished tip to go over the turnout that will look like the RT-10 Polished Tips on our web site. We also have kits that adapt to your excisting mufflers availble.

I would be interested in new turnouts for 3". They would need to be crossover fre (thus just shorty versions. Also they would need to turn out closer to 90 degrees. The Mopar race exhaust turn outs are at too low of an angle and use up more than the available opening due to expansion. Also coming out a little more so I would stop burning the sills.

When will you have them?

I don't understand what the 'kit' is that goes with my existing muffler? ... sound like that's what I want ... I'm planning to take off all of the pipe just after the mufflers, insert some 3" Dynatech cones (after the mufflers), and find some 90* turn-out pipes with polished tips ...

Re: Looking for 3

Gr8, The tips that we are working on will be using a 90 degree bend like you want with a polished round exhaust tip that will stick out about 3/3' - 1/2" past the side sill.

Viperman, The same applies to you as to GR8. We also have a kit that includes our mufflers and a 90 degree bend and polished tips. WE wrap these in a heat reflective wrap and then coat them so that they are waterproof. They sound like a Formula 1 car.

I will be at the Laconia Nationals Rod, Custom, & Muscle Car Show in Laconia, NH from May 26-may 28. If you can show up you can drive my car on the open mountain roads.

I have finished the 3" polished trim rings that will fit both 2-1/2" and 3" turnouts. I will post pictures in the next few days
