I see a few comments about the fabric exhaust blanket insulation Roe sells in the archives, but not much. Here is a chance to report your results and make comments about quality. Now that the highs are over 100F every day I'm looking for any help I can get. Poor air conditioner is working its heart out and my left foot is still baking. BTW, in an effort to keep the car as quiet as possible, I run the stock cats with the inlets and outlets enlarged to three inch. I hindsight, I should have gone with the tiny high-flow units to give more space between the cat and sill - but the dang car is stupid loud as it is.

You really aren't going to solve your problem until you get those cats out. Yours is a rear exhaust so you have many options to quiet the noise.

The Roe insulation will definitely help but you won't be fixed until they are gone. You will wish you did it a long time ago after you do.

I had the Roe side sill exhaust blanket on my SC car with stock cats (required to pass CO emissions testing). They did a pretty fair job insulating and reducing (but not eliminating) side sill and cabin temperatures. I used them in addition to the factory shield, so it was a pretty tight fit with everything in there.

Side sills still get to hot to comfortably touch for more than a moment, but there was definitely an improvement (temp reduction). I also believe the temp reduction helped eliminate discoloration (yellowing) in the silver paint on the sills.

Also, since these trap heat in the system, sills take longer to dissapate heat after driving.

Summary - well worth the money, but don't be expecting the sills to be normal body temperature.

I've found with HF cats and this insulation, my in cabin temps have been reduced dramatically. On occasion, the sills are hot to the touch, but that seems to be only during stop and go traffic. Take a look in my gallery and see the installed pics. I will say, however, they are a PITA to install all the way (I ended up drilling new pilot holes in the belly of the car 1/2" away from the originals just to fit the sills back on). Good luck!

I'm having Roe Oval high flow cats put in my car by Chuck Tator in a few weeks, I'll report on it. I have the Corsa cat back exhaust already, I'm hoping to lower the temp somehwat in the cockpit, it can be an oven and we haven't even had 80 degree's yet. Chuck said to also get the insulation material.

I gave up on trying to install the Roe Wraps. I installed as tightly as possible and still could not get the sill back on. I even ran the car for 20 minutes to see if the heat would help. One thing though - when I pulled the wrap back off after running there was globs of melted metal on the inside - looked like quicksilver or lead - no idea where it came from.

With only the hiflow cats I've seen a noticble reduction in heat inside the cabin.
