MGW ADDED 3/4\" TO MY SHIFTER -PICS- THANKS GEORGE

MGW added 3/4" of shaft above the boot to my shifter. i called and asked george
if he could do this, i think he thought i was crazy :D but after going over
what i was looking for george made one for me. i told him i would post some pics
and let everyone see if they might like it. the thing i didn't like about the
shorty shifter was the knob was right on top of the boot and you could not see
the chrome shaft. with the 3/4" extended shaft you can screw it down far enough
so the height of the knob is the same but you see more chrome and the shaft of
the shifter.

what do you guys think? george will make these available if anyone is interested.

i'm sure he will be reading this post so please do comment. i hope he can make
the chrome hoops at a much better price then vipertrim.

GEORGE - MAKE THE HOOPS, MAKE THE HOOPS :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

ALSO you can check the MGW site to see the shorty shifter to compare

I DID NOT SCREW MY SHIFTER DOWN AS FAR AS THE SHORTY, I'M SLOWLY WORKING ON A
HEIGHT THAT FEELS GOOD FOR ME AS FAR AS SHIFTING. IT'S NICE TO BE ABLE TO ADJUST
THIS. I LIKE DRAG RACING MY CAR AND WANT A CERTAIN FEEL AS FAR AS SHIFTING AND
THE SHORTY FOR ME WAS TO LOW. THE PICS YOU SEE POSTED ADD A LITTLE ABOVE 1/2"
TO THE HEIGHT COMPARED TO THE SHORTY. YES IT WILL BE GOING LOWER.

Re: MGW ADDED 3/4

Hmmmm...I think when I finally order mine I'd want it to be about a little lower then that so add about 1/2" instead of 3/4" to it! Looks good though :2tu:

ricky the great part about it is all you have to do keep turning the shaft
until its 1/2" lower, its adjustable but shows more chrome. i just might take
it apart to show how its done.

Re: MGW ADDED 3/4

Hi WANTED, what is the thread size of your shifter extension, is it 1/2-20 thread that fits the viper head shift knobs from dodge? Also if you could provide me with MGW web site and phone number it would be of great help

Thanks Robbie

Re: MGW ADDED 3/4

The picture links below show an extension I made for the aftermarket shifters that utilize 1/2-20 thread This raises your shift knob to make it easier to shift. The one shown raises your [******] knob a 1-1/8" It can be made any height you guys want if you are interested. It is finished in black rubberized finish and will work with any style knob that is 1/2-20 thread.

Re: MGW ADDED 3/4

Looks good. I actually modified my existing shifter since I installed the Mopar Hurst Shifter and wanted to retain my original Mamba Red Shifter knob. At Chuck Tator's recommendation I took my orginal shifter knob and shaft to a machine shop and had rougly 2 inchs cut from the center and had the threaded sleeve welded back on. It looks awesome. There is about 3/4 of an inch of the orginal shifter shafter showing. I will post pics in the next few days.

Re: MGW ADDED 3/4

I haven't installed my SVS shifter and MGW shifter knob yet for that very reason. I like my knob slightly higher. George, how do I go about getting an extension piece?
