We went to the Miami Beach auto show today. There was no 2008 Viper in either regular or ACR trim. There was a large Vette exhibit with a person from the Z06 assembly line present to talk about the car. We have a large VCA chapter in South Florida. Our weather allows year around Viper use. There are many full pockets down here. Sometimes I think the marketing people our asleep at the switch. To say the least, the absence of the Viper was disappointing.

Believe this is more of a dealer car show with little or no manufacturer interest.... I stopped going to them because the cars are pretty much what one sees in dealer show rooms....

Viper marketing has always been subpar to put it politely. I'm sure Dodge sees it as a Viper isnt a car you have to promote. Not a whole lot of people will see a Viper commercial and be like "you know what, lets go out and spend $90k on a Viper". If you plan to spend $90k on a car, you are most likely already a "car guy", and you already know what a Viper is. That being said, I still think Dodge should promote it more than they do (practically zero). It doesnt need as many commercials as a Camry, but some at least some marketing to the general public wouldnt hurt!

I went to the San Antonio auto show today too. Same story. No Vipers at all. Mostly dealer cars, with the exception of an Audi R8, which looked pretty cool in-person.

I did take a closer look at the '08 vettes. The new, 'upgraded' interior still doesn't seem all that nice to me -- still very GM. The MSRP on a loaded vette convertible was about $66,700, and the MSRP on a loaded Z06 was about $77,700 ... I remember buying an '03 C5 vette for the high 30s a few years ago ...
