Minumize back pressure?

Is there any advantage to removing the cats and going with a minimum muffler like flowmaster etc. I'm thinking of this for track events. I trailer and would only use it during such events.

Comments, suggestions appreciated.

There are definite advantages of removing the cats, and in my opinion least of which is hp gain. The power gain from this maybe 5hp or so and defiantly not noticeable on the track or the street.

But the other advantages are sound, heat, no yellowing sills. The car sounds much better with them out, the heat in the foot area and on the sills is gone, which in turn does not cause the paint to go yellow.
