Looking at new set of tires for the viper and was wondering about anyones thoughts on mismatching tires. I would really like to get the Kumho V700 for the rear but would like to avoid sandblasting the front sills if possible and get a front tire that will minimize this but still provides grip. My question is, is this ok and what would be a good choice for thw front?

Also, if I were to put V700's on the front do you use the 3m Scotchgard paint protection film or something else? I read that you need some professionals to install this.

I run four V700s and I put the 3M on myself. Just take your time and use small pieces on the curved surfaces. I don't think a perfect job is so important since these are areas that aren't really very visible from beside the car. (Mostly underneath).

I am going with the Kumho Ectsa MX up front in the stock 275-35-18 size. The tread and sidewall markings are very similar to the V700 so they look more appororiate than any other tire with the V700s. Sorry they are still on the garage floor waiting to be bolted on so I cannot comments on how they work yet.

Under normal driving conditions, not racing, how many miles will the V700 be good for?
