Mopar Day at Infineon Raceway

Mopar days at Infineon Raceway June 6 2009 was a great day for drag racing. There had to be about 250 mopars from roadrunners to blown dragsters. One of the best things about this annual event is how close you can get to the starting line to watch and photo the cars and rails. The weather was great the morning was very cool and the afternoon got up to about 72 degrees. Here was my best time finally breaking the 12.0 that has evaded me for too long. I lowered my tire pressure in my MT drag tires to 12 lbs. and was determined to get there. here was my time.

I brought two cameras with me my digital cheap Nikon and my film camera. The digital cam battery for some reason didn't charge and was DOA and the film camera is getting developed. I thought it was off the wall that as many Vipers that are in the bay area only myself and another showed up.

Canyon, I saw your 11.91 run. Congrats, nice run. The blue /white Viper ran in the twelves. I was thinking of bringing my Viper but instead brought my Hemi Challenger. It had 39year old stock polyglas GT tires so I decided not to run it. It was scary enough just driving it there.

I finally got down into the 11's It felt great. My friend John in his blue 06 Viper didn't do as well but, he is a bit newer at running his car. It really does take practice to get it right. Thanks and hope to see you out there again. I try to go on Wed nights. It's so nice to have a track near us. Infineon does a great job to keep drag racing safe and off the streets. When I need to go fast I go there.
