I am considering adding this exhaust to my FE Coupe after the 500 mile oil change and baseline dyno. When I checked with the dealer I was informed that this exhaust eliminates the cats. Is this true? I wanted to go with high flow cats, in fact I have the Roe oval high flow cats which were removed from my '96 GTS. Will these fit/work with the Mopar race exhaust? I'm new to SRT's so am still learning. One smelly catless car is enough for me.

If you do a search I am certain you will find the answers you are looking for Bob........search under Mopar Exhaust.

There are two types of exhaust if my memory serves me correctly. One is the street exhaust while the other is the race exhaust. Only the race exhaust removes the cats. The street exhaust is a 2.5 inch cat-back set-up while the race exhaust is a cat elimination system.

That's exactly correct the only thing I would add is the race exhaust is 3" (I have one on my SRT-10.)

Thanks for the info. I did do a search and found lots of info (should have done that first - dah!). I still want to know if it is possible to add a high flow cat to the race exhaust system. I want a 3 inch system that will pass emissions and avoid the catless smell. I prefer the sound of Borla as opposed to Corsa.

Bob, I think it is possible. I know that Roe racing mentioned that they could provide me with cats to quiet the exhaust down if I wanted when I bought mine. It sounded like they had done the mod before. I ended up just using some insert cones welded in just before the mufflers and I have a great sound. I rarely, almost never, notice the smell.

Also, just a few install tips in case you or whoever is doing the install hasn't done one of these before:

1) The pieces are side specific, but not marked (that I noticed). You'll have to experiment to see which one goes on each side.

2) You have to switch the stock rubber mounts from front to back. The back mount goes up front and the front mount goes in back.

3) The stock tips have a bend that is about 45 degrees and starts way up. It makes the exhaust tips very hard to line up. Make sure they are all the way forward when cold. I'm eventually going to have a 90 degree set bent up.
