I have seen some guys that have their muffler taken off. Is there a kit that I can buy to do this and where can I get it? Does it add any HP or cause any computer problems that will trip the check eng light. How does it sound? I have a 1996 RT/10.

Body Kits. I am curious where to go to get a body kit for my 96 RT/10. I heard someone on the forum say that there are many kits for the Gen1 and Gen2 but I haven’t seen many of them.

Once again all of you guys are great. Thank you for your help and replies.

Muffler delete should be mandatory. Go to any muffler shop and they will do it for you for $100-$200. I suggest a H or X pipe for a bit better sound.

HP increase is 8-10.

Sound is not much louder but %100 better, particularly in a RT/10 with the rear glass out.

Body kits - ugh.

I would love to find a shop that would do this for 100-200 bucks. Cheapest I have found is 250. And I even have a spare rear muffler assembly. Nobody will do the mod with the muffler off the car. I'm gonna put my spare muffler in a jig, get a welder and a cutter and do it myself for under 100 bucks if I ever find the time.

I think its quite rediculous that a shop cant cut the muffler out, weld two perfectly straight pieces of 18" exhaust tubing, and be done with it without ripping me off.

As for aftermarket muffler deletes you can find them both here: Parts Rack

But for over 450 dollars, I would recommend saving up a little more and going with a full cat back system. They do pop up on ebay sometimes.

Why do you recommend the cat back system, and what about the idea of removing catalytic converters and replacing them with something legal, but with less heat and back pressure?
