I went to my first Autocross yesterday the A Day at the Strip.
I finished 4th out of 29 cars, I was by far the best finishing rookie.
Actually first and second was the same driver in different cars.
This was my fastest run, I had to slow down to go faster.

Here is a video of my 1994 first of this year autocross:

This will be my second year of autocross, and having lots of fun. Have not had lots of time to do this year, but will try to get one more in before the end of the year.

Great job!

I've never done an a-cross. Tracked the vette plenty, but just can't bring myself to get the viper out there yet. I've had a few off-road excursions in the vette, and the idea of doing that with the GTS is just blood curdling LOL

Good to see you out there drivin' it like it shoudl be driven!!

I had one off track excursions, I did hit any cones or anything, no harm ,on foul. Advantage of Autocross nothing to hit.

Good video and well done. That pavement and area makes Sebring look almost new !!

It is the old George Field a WWII air force training base.

That video is shot with an Samsung Fascinate Android phone on the car cradle stuck to the windshield. I just drilled hold in the back of the cradle where the lens is so it could film.

Pavement, what pavement? It honestly looks like a dirt path in the video! :)
Good run and it looks like you're having fun. I've never tried A-cross, but I would be more worried about forgetting where the hell I'm supposed to be going!

Looks fun, nice driving. My friend and I were on our way to an autocross event a few days ago, but his fuel pressure regulator took a crap and we were on the side of the road for over an hour. Missed the event. (would have been my first) Can't wait for the next one.

No Prep, SCCA inspect require 35 psi in the tires, but after the first run the BFG representative lowered them to 29 psi for me.
It was a BFG sponsored event and I had G- Force's on the Viper, they were real nice.

The track is huge concrete slab showing it 70+ years of IL winters and summers.
I did got off course once and even looking at the video I cant figure out where I missed the turn.
I am off at a bout 30 sec, note the Oh sh-t comment

I will do it again.
