I know I have Belanger headers no cats [******] airbox. But It should feel close because of the extra 50hp. I am sure once it is broken in the car will run better. On the low end is where I feel the differnce the most. My GTS with just headers made 452rwhp and 512rwt on button 652 and 814. What are the SRT's running to the wheels stock and then with headers and exhaust?

The SRT is effectively geared taller than the GTS, due to its taller rear tires. this is most certainly why you are feeling the difference.

Yeah, to equalize things just throw 3.55's in there and you'll be smiling.

Well let's see. Your GTS dynos about 10 RWHP more than the average SRT. You also have an effectively lower gear ratio due to smaller diameter tires. And you are surprised that it seems to perform less. Go figure!

Hey Kenric,

The car needs to be broken in before you can properly compare. As stated above, the gear ratio's (due to the tire sizes) are a bit higher = low end. Stock, mine dynoed 450 to the wheels with 3.07's. With current mods, headers, intake and exhaust I'm at 490 to the wheels with 3.55's. Add in the 3.55's gear ratio effect on the dyno and I'm at about 505 to the wheels. There's your 50 hp. Torque seems to be about the same, that is plus 25 over the hp numbers.

Enjoy your car.

Thanks guys for the responses. I think you are right I just need to break in the car; and add some headers and 3inch exhaust and some 3.55's or 3.35's. Dan your numbers support what I thought your car with the same mods dyno almost 50 more hp.

Kendric---I have a 04 with 3.55 Gears. I noticed the difference right away in Dallas. I have 3.73 ordered for my 05 VCA edition. Do at least the 3.55's you'll love it (quite a difference.) I'm trying the 3.73's because it is a 6 speed and i think I'll like them even better. Good luck! I have Zero Altitude making me the Special Edition Door Sills and Yellow Wheel Center caps. Give randy a call if you haven't already!

Kenric - I put out 449.4rwhp and 489 rwtq with the K&N filtercharger installed. I'm in Phoenix right now and as I type this my Belanger Tri-Y's are being installed. I will dyno again probably next Thursday. I'll pm you the new numbers.

Beautiful cars Kenric. I'd love to pick up an SRT 10 in the coming years to add to my final edition. I just did K&N, smooth tubes and a Borla catback on my car and absolutely love it. It sounds 1000% better and definitely feels stronger, too. Haven't had it to a dyno, but am curious to see where the #s are, since we have done the same (less headers).

Enjoy!

There is only a 6 m.p.h. difference in 5th gear at 4000 rpm between 3.73 and 3.55 gears so you might as well do the 3.73's an any case. I'm told the car will still go 170 m.p.h. with 3.73's and that's fast enough for me. I'm considering going to 4.11's. Get that stock flywheel out of there. It's great to do engine mods but if your drive train is not optimized the effect of your other mods will be diminished. I wouldn't be suprised if gears and a flywheel give a greater performance boost than engine bolt ons.
The engine will pick up a lot of power after it has 3000 miles on it. I can now break my tires loose in 2nd gear without half trying. I couldn't do that earlier.

What are the benifits of an aftermarket flywheel? How expensive are they and how much labor?

My SRT 04 blows the doors off my 98 gts from the line. SRT spins up faster with aluminum flywheel and 3.73 definitely are night and day better than 3.07 and Belangers ice the cake. :headbang:

Thanks Jon! Thomas let me know what your numbers come in at. Also did you go with the crossover cat back? Does Belanger make cat back cross over exhaust? I think it would sound better with the crossover like stock.

Lower moment of inertia. An aluminum flywheel gives you more acceleration and engine braking with no drawbacks in this car. Think of it as "free" horsepower. Call John Archer for a quote. :2tu:

I will have to agree with sylvan srt.
Butt dyno is bs compared to dyno sheets.
BTW, sylvan srt, must be a blast to drive around sylvan lake drive this of the year.
I used to live around the Keego Harbor area.

I went without the crossover and they do make the crossover version. I'll get the numbers on Thursday. I'll let you know asap! :2tu:
