Hey guys, anyone ever bought a government seized vehicle before?

I have a lead on a vehicle that was seized by the government due to non-payment of taxes by the owner. A dealer bought the car from an auction and now has it up for sale..

The dealer does not have the title, just the certificate of sale of seized property, and the DMV vehicle transfer & reassignment form. I called the CA DMV, and they said that I would goto the DMV with the seller (dealer) with that paper work and they would then register the car to my name and issue the new title to me in the mail.

I guess I dont know if I have a specific question.. just wondering if anyone has go through this before? good/ bad experience?

I'd tell the dealer to go get the car titled in his state or your state.
He's the one that bought it at auction.
You shouldn't get involved in buying a car without a title unless you are buying it at the government auction.
