Need help..

It all started when my first gear started popping out around june this summer. Now the car ALWAYS pops out of 1st, and sometimes pops out of reverse, while before it happened occasionally, I talked to a few people about it, they said it MIGHT be a bad synchro, but unfortunately, most probably it looks like I'll have to get the tranny rebuilt..
Does anybody know of a good shop I can take her to ? I have a 1994 RT, I live in northern VA, close to md/dc.

Honestly you'll be better off buying a newer used tranny than paying to rebuild yours. My syncro went out in the 5th 6th gears and when my guy took it apart he said the whole thing was shot. The fluid hadn't been changed in forever and that caused a lot of the parts to fuse together in a lump of gears and metal. Way to expensive to fix.

Hopefully that's not your situation but take it out and bring it somewhere you trust.

Probably not your problem, but my '01 used to every now and then grind going into first from neutral. Like at a traffic light or stop sign. No other shifting problems. Replaced badly worn motor mounts with Woodhouse and put in the Dave's Big Brakes billet/poly tranny mount and problem has been solved.

Call Bryon Muller 571.228.4794 I'm not sure if he would actually do the work himself, but I bet he will know a shop in N. Va. that will do good work. Tell him I said to call. If he does not know pm me and I will check further for you.
Now for my VCA plug.....You probably would get a much broader response if you were a VCA member and could post this question in the Regional forum. Think about joining, we have a very tight network in this region, there is always someone who can get things done. And there are many events each year just a few miles from where you live. 800.998.1110 to join or go to Dodge VIPER Magazine and do it online. Great pro rated deal in the 4th quarter to include all next year too.

Sounds like it could be bent shift forks. Common with Gen I with cast forks.
