GOOD EVENING , I AM INSTALLING A NEW 5037357AB CLUTCH FORK BEARING ON MY VIPER T56 SETUP. I HAVE A CLASSIC CAR WITH A HYD SETUP AND WHEN INSTALLING THE BEARING YOU LEAVE ABOUT .100 THOUSANDS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE CLUTCH FORKS AND THE BEARING FACE. MY QUESTION IS WHEN INSTALLING THE VIPER FACTORY BEARING ON THE T56 I SEE THAT THE SPRING IS PUSHING THE FACE TO FULL EXTENSION. SO THE BEARING FACE IS ALWAYS TOUCHING THE FORKS? SO NO NEED TO HAVE FREE PLAY FOR CLUTCH WEAR? THANKS

That's correct. The bearing will always ride on the clutch with the Viper style hydraulic setup. I put a Viper T56 in my 67 Dart behind a 5.7 Hemi. The main thing you need to be careful of and measure is how much travel the slave cylinder has. You actually want the spring compressed some since that isn't really what is pushing the clutch when you press the pedal, it's the hydraulic piston inside that is pushing forward.
