Noise from Left Rear......Any Ideas?

It is not a deep "clunk", more like a "snap" or "pop". Seems to be coming from the left rear and only happens taking off "straight". Cannot hear it during turns. It is not very loud, and does not happen everytime, but about 75% of the time. It's a 95RT with about 9.5K miles. Any Comments?

Sounds like a u-joint going bad on the left halfshaft, or maybe a ******** a u-joint is loose.
