After ten+ years of roastin' the local backstreets........in my gen 1. (waiting for some backlash), it finally happened. Got called-out on fb..... Cheers!!
I took my GTS out for a drive on a BEAUTIFUL spring day yesterday. The last time I washed it two weeks ago, my key fob broke where the ring goes through it, so I stopped by my dealer to order a new fob. Well, the UPS truck was blocking several parking spots out front of the store, so I pulled into the service entrance and it was blocked too. I looked left, and the ramp and entrance door to the showroom was wide open - so I said "what the hell - go for it!" I pulled it right into the showroom and parked right by the sales manager's office. They were obviously expecting a new car to roll in, but not THAT one... I shook a few folks' hands and said "it's back home again right where it was almost 17 years ago." After I ordered my fob at the parts counter, there were already 3 people (including one young salesman) gathered around it ooh-ing and aaah-ing. I said "one owner, low miles, mostly driven on Saturdays and Sundays - at the racetrack." Hopped in and headed back out to enjoy the beautiful Viper Day.
Two kinds of people in the world. I drive mine everywhere too. The garage queen owners must not realize that they won't be able to take it with them when they die.
I have to admit like this guy says "You want to wash the car in the driveway" Great little video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fz-WGcWpYyE#at=102
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I bought my 2000 GTS a few months ago with 1,800 miles. It now has 3,600, all at speed on the back roads as it should be.
Here is a good example. I went and picked up the '94 from the Audio Store. All new setup. Guy took pictures during the process to show me the hush matt, what type mounting brackets he had to make, etc. While scrolling through his phone pics, suddenly there was one with his 10 year old daughter sitting in my car. He said, oh yeah... Hope you don't mind, she really liked the car. I said no problem, that's what it's all about ! I've been hoarding Gen 1 Hot Wheels off of ebay to hand out to the kids I run into this year that like the car. Someone else had mentioned that in another posting and I thought that was a great idea. Maybe I should go back and give the first one to the guy that did the audio work to give to his 10 year old daughter.
I attended a car show today and I was amazed at how much people love these cars...almost as amazed as how many people think it has a V12 haha. Here are some pictures. I even won a trophy. Hell yea!
Almost 2 years since purchasing my Gen 1…. Ive gone from 4K miles to 12K miles. Newness still has not worn off. Always enjoy firing it up after stressfull day at work…Some how these cars have a way of making you forget about all the worlds problems when driving them!
Yep, back in 1995 had a yellow RT10, a great time for a great car, I miss it very much. Sold it to get my 99 GTS. love the 99 but the 95 was my first Viper and it was so cool to have, thats all I can say.
Look at all the reply's you have after a few hours!!!!!!! I have a 95 RT/10 I LOVE it, every time you get in you SMILE, and Fun to watch people, driving down the road, Gas stations, Parked any where you Go Re-act to this Car!!! Sure glad I got it, Too many Corvettes out there Not many Vipers. I make it a point to park near the Corvettes, everyone then asks about the Viper!!!!! Love it !!!! Brad from Florida
I have wanted one since the mid 90's. Living in a densely populated state like New Jersey, I have literally seen 2 on the road since then.. Incredibly rare car...
Hi Björn, I have seen that your car is for sale (and there is nothing wrong with that, of course). Just wondering, if it has disappointed you in some regard? For sure, Viper is not for everyone and there are probably some owners out there, that "expected" something different and realized that it is not the car for them....?
Hi Holger, I am completely happy with my car and I don't wanna ever sell it! Just put in on the web to see what kind of characters will give me a call! I really love my snake - hating our german winter it can't be march soon enough! Bjoern
Forgeline SX-3 wheels, custom offset. Rear wheel is 18x13 with 335 Kumho's and front ones are 18x11 with 305 Kumho's. Closest thing to a slick there is....
thats what i love most about vipers, i live in MA and im 30 and ive never seen a 1st or 2nd gen rt/10 in my life, ive seen a couple gts's and gen 3's, ive probly seen only 5 vipers (on the road) in my lifetime
And you are in USA...You can't understand what happen here in Italy when people see my Viper! They think that i'm a hollywood star! People as Paparazzi...twenty pictures with their camera phone in a few minutes...EVERYTIME... Girls...tell me "hello, can you take me to a ride please" !!
Every year my wife, kids and I go to a local car show on Father's day. In 2013 I got second place (no trophy) for best in show. This last Father's day they relocated places and it was much bigger than previous years. A riced up new Camaro won best in class voted by the judges, and my lowly Viper GTS won people's choice voted by the people attending the car show. Pretty damn exciting considering how many cars were there
