No broken dishes, I warned my wife and my two other daughters before we shot the video. I told my daughter who took the video it was going to be really loud, but you can see she still jumped once it fired. She laughed for a good 10 minutes afterward.

Mitch,

You sound like Beavis and Butthead, "fire, fire, fire"!!! I actually had a video of my car with the old exhaust on(no cats) and blue flames shooting out on decel after a 3rd and 4th gear pull. I will see if I can dig it up!

I need to let it warm up again and take another vid. Once it settles in, the PBJ cam really sounds wicked.

THanks Big, I assume they did a nice job on your car. Have they tuned a VEC before yours?

First time I uploaded a movie, but I think it's there. Are you playing it in full screen? When I clicked on the link, it opened Windows Media Player in a half size that didn't shrink the image, it only showed an upper corner. Or are you java-ing with me...

I would love to have an F1 engine in my garage. I would do nothing more than start it and rev it, just like that video.

The lifespan is only 1000 miles. At 19-20,000 RPM the unavoidable failure mode was cracking in the wrist pin boss and piston crown from inertia trying to pull the wrist pin boss off the bottom of the piston. The cracks allow 1) the piston skirts to misalign with the bore and cause scuffing and blowby and 2) combustion gas to blow through the crack and melt a small hole into a big hole really fast.

I see they changed the rules in F1 for the new year, limiting RPM for longevity.

i met the owner on a cruise last summer. he tunes vipers, and other cars, and has a FGT of his own that is SWEET. local car guys that i know go to him and all i have talked to are satisfied with the entire experience. i recently purchased a set of headers for my car, and after i get them ceramic coated, i will be sending the car to him for the install and a re-tune. yes, he told me he tunes VEC's. right now, he appears to be the only mid-west tuner that isnt a PITA and knows how to run a business, and is definately still IN business. you know what i mean. ;)

Well, I took folks advice and ordered the Woodhouse engine and tranny mounts, just installed them tonight. My clearance issue on the pass side is gone, but the collector is still touching the bottom of the frame on the drivers side. I was thinking about dimpling the collector just a tad, and then I thought it may be easier just to cut out a shim and place it under the new Woodhouse mount. Any thoughts?? I think 1/8" will fix my issue.

BTW, with the exhaust off, the mounts were a breeze, less than an hour for both engine mounts and the tranny mounts.
