Thats great news. BTW I just installed the Optima Red top in my 94 RT with NO PROBLEMS!! I had about 1/8 inch clearance on the right side top post. I seriously considered buying the "smaller Red top", but could not find anyone locally who had it in stock - so I measured and re-measured then bought the Red top. I don't know if everyone would have the same results as I, but sure was glad it fit!!!

I just talked with the Optima factory people here in Denver today. They have recently been bought by Johnson Controls which makes the Interstate batteries and many of Sears high end batteries. They should have a Group 78 gel-cell battery by next spring that will have no top posts and only side posts. I should be the test dummy for the first unit in a Viper when it comes out and will keep you informed.
