OS Giken break in.........

...............method/period? I just installed an OS Gik w/ 3.33 in my 97 GTS and used the break-in fluid that was supplied. So here is my problem......the install instruction say 200 to 500 miles of easy driving, then flush and fill with the supplied gear oil (OS Giken brand fluid), I only drive this car on the race track. Last year I didnt even put 100 miles of street driving, but 2,000 miles of track time.

So what do all you racer do for break in on a new diff?

The break in is mostly for the new gears not the Giken, I drove mine hard after about three or four heat cycles.

Break in is for gear not the unit itself. At least that is what unitrax told me. They know their stuff...

The OS Giken does actually have a break in oil/period now according to Unitrex. They updated the install instructions in the middle of last year.
