Owners of 1992s. NEED HELP!

First of all, I want to say hi to everyone on this forum I own a 1992 viper #84. Ok here's the deal, the Viper cranks but won't start. I have jumped the terminals and straight to the battery. But still won't start. When i arm the alarm, the REd LED doesn't flash. And are the lights suppose to blink when you disarm/unlock? I don't know what's happening so NEED HELP ASAP! ANything will be appreciated, thanks!

The lights blink when you disarm. A near dead battery will cause you pain and grief. Have it checked.

Sounds to me like a dead battery. It's in the trunk, under the spare. The light will blink when you reconnect the battery, press both buttons on the key fob until the horn chirps. Then press unlock, with a freash battery the car should start and run. If not then you have a bigger problem. But it sounds like the battery is low and the car is in lock down mode (fuel has been cut out).

um...k, bought a new battery today and car still didn't start. :S. Could it be the alarm?? A code or something? Again, when arming the alarm/car, the RED LED in the console doesn't blink. HElp again!

Your going to need a mechanic to look at the car. My computer module went bad on my alarm system, and had to be replaced. But it could be anything now.

You'll have to put a scan tool on it to find out the problem.

Does it turn over at all?

If no:

1) Check to make sure the floor mat is not under the clutch pedal.
2) Check the big fuse in in the harness below the positive under hood battery terminal... it is exposed and gets corroded.

Do you have a Service Manual. If not you should get one. https://techauthority.gltghosting.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomerHome?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10051. You don't need a Scan Tool to access computer codes but it does make it easier. You can access the trouble codes in the computer by turning the ignition key: on---off then on--off then on again within 5 seconds. This will start the service engine soon light doing a number of flashes in series. You have to count the number of flashes in each one to determine the code number but this won't do you any good if you don't have a service manual to tell you what they are. This method of reading trouble codes only works up to 95. 96 on uses OBD2.

Had the exact same thing happen on my 94 when the battery went dead. Tech manual says you have to Re-program the remote entry receiver. Not that hard to do you just have to find it. I did it myself. Once reprogramed, I had to replace the plugs as I had fouled them out trying to crank it so many times. Theft security system thinks you're trying to steal the car and it shuts down the fuel system.
