Hi everybody. I know that the feedback on palmer dodge is very mixed, but they seem to have at least two viable cars that im interested in.

For the georgia members, is anyone near there that could possibly take a look at these cars for me? id like to prevent taking a flight down there for a pooch, if you know what I mean.

Any possible takers?

Thanks guys.

i would avoid them like the plague.....they tried to tell us that a 1999 viper was a 2006. the quality of cars was not the greatest either......one of the cars had scratches all over the passenger side and the front was scraped up like the guy ran over a bush or small tree. interior was dogged. another car was a 2005 black vert that had some interior issues that probably could clean up pretty easily, yet they just left it like it was. another was a white viper that they had the whole driver side off of it, im not sure why.....just a junk dealer IMHO. we saw those and after the guy tried to convince us that a 1999 was a 2006, we even opened the door and showed him the build date, he looked confused. they do not even know what they are selling. buyer beware!!!!!! you have been warned.

It seems like every car they have, has "stories", and is priced accordingly. I almost bought a bumble bee from them in 2004.. After an inspection revealed the entire front of the car, hood AND facia, was redone/repainted from an accident.. Carfax was clean BTW!!! Its the luck of the draw I guess. Im sure they have clean, no story cars. But, Ive never seen a dealer get so many "issue" cars before..

Some of their cars are good. others not-so-much. If you are serious about a car, PM me and i'll give you the GM's cell #. that will bypass the BS. I am also (relatively) local and can go check out a car if needed...

Just do your homework, I live in Florida, and purchased a car from them in 2006. I called the Georgia Viper Club President and asked him about the dealership. Then I got in touch with a club member in the area, he was more than happy to go test drive it for me. Based on email photos, conversation with the sales manager, and the approval of the member that test drove the car, I bought it, and had it shipped to my house. The car was
99% what I was told. Good luck, just do your research, and have someone check it out who knows what they're doing. :drive:

I also bought my car from Palmer and i had Gary Almond go over the whole car when he went to pick it up for me. It was also 99% as described and everything has been fine so far.

Theres a 99 rt/10 with like 4k miles that seems like a decent deal.

Thanks!

I purchased my car from palmer dodge. I got a fair price on the car. The car itself was in excellent shape. It was shipped in from south carolina. Customer service in the sales division suuuuuuuuuucks. :crazy2: Once you purchase the car, the honeymoon is over. The service department on the other hand has been quite helpful, and seem to be fairly knowledgeable.

I tried to pre order my '08 from Palmer Dodge and they were clueless. Told me they would put me on a list for when a new one came in . This was in september. A close friend of mine was shopping for a charger and they kept trying to sell him previous rentals as "like new". They are typical used car dealers. Joe may have had a better experience with them over time, but based on first hand experience, I wouldn't go near the place. Just my .02.

I, too, called Palmer Dodge looking for a new '08 Viper. They told me that they weren't getting any '08 Vipers. Then, later on, they called us and told us that they just got in the '08 Viper and we should come and take a look at it. They just didn't seem to be well-informed at all. The cars that were on their lot a couple of months ago when I was there seemed to have issue on most of them. I know you can't expect a used car to be perfect but, here is what I saw.

There was a Special Edition white w/blue convertible that had the both sides off of it from the sill forward. They said someone took it over a speed bump and they had to replace that but "it wasn't wrecked".

There was an '02 black/silver coupe that looked good from the outside but the interior definitely had issues.

Quite a few of their cars had interior issues.

There was an '06 black convertible that the console was peeling. They said, "it's really easy to fix that problem and cheap to fix, too." They were asking top dollar for this car and weren't fixing this "cheap, easy" fix.

Now, that's not to say that everything there was bad but I saw issues with just about every car that I looked at. One had the removable top and there were tons of scratches on it. Could they be buffed out? Probably most could. So why not do it and present the car in the best possible way?

My advice would be, if they have a car there that you are interested in, send someone who knows what to look for to check it out and be very aware of what a fair price for that car is considering the condition. And look carefully at all the details!!!

I live close to palmer, but Joseph dell is super super super knowledgeable about vipers. I could look at the overall condition, but he would pick up on all the hidden issues if there were any. If jd can't do it,I can. Send me a private message if you need me.

Palmer Dodge has decent deals on their cars, but their customer service, sales, and finance departments ****. :stooges:

And that's putting it lightly. :crazy2: :brick: :curse:

Your experience may go something like this:

Wow! Decent cars at decent prices! :)

Why can't I get ahold of anyone? :dunno:

Does anyone want to sell me this car?

Ok, I guess I will wait for someone to call me back. :waiting:

Ok I would like to put a deposit on that car. :D

Does anyone answer the phones around here? Or at least return a call? :irked:

What do you mean you sold the car I had a deposit on!!! :censored: :burned:

How many people do I have to talk to get my deposit back?!?! :ripped: :nunu:

Fxxx you guys. I will buy somewhere else! :buttkick:

That's all in about a month start to finish. That's my rant :rant2: on Palmer Dodge.

Hopefully it will be a different (better) experience for you...

Just purchased 06 Viper from Palmer Dodge this Jan 08. They are the worst. From sales to service, it could not have gone any more wrong... Stay away!

Details? I have never dealt with Palmer on a Sales or Service level, but talked to a guy yesterday who recently bought an 04' from them and he didn't mention any complaints.

I understand there are mixed reviews about Palmer Dodge as a whole. Alot of it seems to center around the sales people and there lack of knowledge. As a salesperson/Ebay Manager here I would have to add some validity to that statement but back it up with the simple fact that as much of a speciality car that a Viper is not everyone here is going to know all about them. I know there are some people here who don't know the first thing about Vipers but with as much turn over in this industry you can't cram all the vast knowledge that needs to be known from 92-present into a sales person who maybe sales one a year. We do have some very knowledgeable sales people here like myself but we tend to be specialized and don't catch every person who comes in off the street and for that I apologize. I know Jody Cruce and myself try to work with every Viper customer that comes in here to make sure they are happy and it is unfortunate that some people past/present didnt do their job(our sales staff) to make sure you all were taken care of. Not every Viper is going to be a low mile gem but we do price them accordingly. We had an 06 with 30k miles traded in here and some people want to bash us cause it wasn't flawless. I am under the idea that I shouldn't "cover up" how the past owner treated the car and sell it like it stands. If the previous owner smoked in it don't cover it up with smell goods so three months later you find out, if there are some minor cosmetics that you say "could have been easily fixed" let you the customer decide on what you want us to do and not to do. That way you know what you are getting yourself into. That is just my way of thinking. Long and short is I sell dozens and dozens of Vipers a year (about 3-4 a month) to customers all over the world and do my best to make sure each one is happy. Look at my ebay feedback viperpalmer678 and it speaks for it's self. I know my word probably means jack but at least I know I am being truthful. If I can help let me know. If not, at least get a Viper somewhere and have fun.

I bought a 2006 dodge viper, Palmer said the car came from detroit as a lease. Later, while having it serviced at another dealership I found that most of the employees there had driven my car... it was used at road atlanta and other speedways as a SRX experiance test car. Since dodge had owened the car, all the repairs they made were not reported showing a clean report. Legal Sale?

when I went to have it serviced at another dealership, they had a list of items that were repaired or replaced there due write ups during track events, but of course they wouldnt show up on the history report due to dodge owning the car. Palmer ensured me that it had never been touch up painted, but other dealships pointed it right out to me.

I know nothing about the dealership, but I have to give Jared some credit for getting on here and having the guts to acknowledge they did some things wrong in the past and are now trying to make it right.

Just remember there are two sides to every story, and when it comes to pricing, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is!

Good luck buying your Viper! Sounds like there are a lot of people here willing to help you out.

I'm looking at their 08 Viper Blue Vert with black stripes. After reading this thread, I'm alittle weary about dealing with them...

Bat

Is it new? I woudn't think twice about buying a new car from just about any dealership, as long as the price was acceptable. Disregard if it's used. :D
