I could probably search and find an answer but thought asking the forum directly would be more helpful. I'm having a Paxton installed and also purchased a VEC III. The insatller is telling me that the VEC won't work with the split second box on the Paxton. We are weighing options from how to make the VEC work properly to just returning it to Sean Roe and use the split second alone. I really want to use the VEC because of its greater tuning flexibility in case I want to do more mods in the future.

Does anyone know how to make these two place nicely together. If so, the how to details would be very helpful. :eater: :eater: :eater:

Talk to Sean Roe. Joe Donovan of PBJ installed a VEC3 with my Split Second stuff this past April on my Paxton SRT Ram. Sean knew exactly what needed to be done in order for them to work with eachother. We were also running water/**** injection.

We are also running DC Performances' blower flash/pcm which also worked with the Split Second and VEC3 programs/software. Sean would be the only guy that I know of who could answer your questions.

call sean or Joseph dell can probably help also. im guessing he'll see this thread and help out if he can. but i dont think the split second AND the VEC can work together. its one or the other. and id always take the VEC over it.

I'm running both the Split Second and VEC right now on my truck. I've got the FMU's and stock Paxton fuel system on it along with stock injectors. I believe we're running/controlling some parameters with the Split Second and some others with the VEC.

At first Joe Donovan wasnt too optimistic after finding out what setup I had on the truck, didnt think it would work (split second and VEC3). He called Sean at a late hour and Sean confirmed you could and gave Joe the details on how to do it. Next day we're on the dyno at 702 rwhp with both systems.

Dave - Do you think Joe Donovan still has the details captured on what he did. If so could you get written copy of it? It would be a big help to me.

I think you could call him and he would remember what he did with Sean. It would be easier to call him directly then try and get him to write it down. Are you tuning your car? If not and someone else is perhaps they could talk to Joe directly.

Sean Roe is great about responding to e-mail, you could e-mail him and he could lay out what needs to be done as well. Sean really came through for us. If you're looking for a quick response I would contact Sean first. Joe is sometimes hard to get in contact with.

I'd pull the SS box. it is used to trigger the secondary fuel pump(s)... but you can do that w/ the VEC3. one device = cleaner.
