First stage of stripping the car and further damage assessment after lengthy wranglings with insurer (Beauly, June 2008). With the help of Nadine Geary!

Wow, glad to hear that you are okay. Is the insurance situation like it would be in the US or do they insure higher since they do not get these cars that often. I have always wondered this. Also did they total it and you purchased it back from the insurance company?

I wish you the best of luck with the rebuild!!

The insurance premium on the car was comparable in the UK as to when I had it in CA. Yes, the car was totalled and I bought it back salvage at 25% of the valuation. In the UK it's pretty much economically totalled as soon as you damage the hood (it's
£12k to replace, sourced through Chrysler UK!). They initially classed it as a 'breaker' but I managed to convince them (with the help of Chuck Tator and others on here) that it was repairable - I did my bit to keep a Viper from death!

Updates from work during May and June 2009. Lots of progress on the rebuild. In fact, apart from a few cosmetic issues, it's finished!! Passed MOT and VIC test. Needless to say, I can't thank Nadine enough. Picking it up on Saturday - can't wait!!

I'm just back from the 600 mile trip back from Bath to Inverness. It was so good to be back in the car again, although the hood still needs to be finished. I love the looks you get in the UK when you drive a Viper!! Once again, HUGE thanks to Nadine and Bjorn for their hospitality and all the work on the car. And their house is something to behold - a shrine to the Viper (and dog home)!!!
