I've seen this particular random orbital polisher mentioned a number of times. I've also seen some still pics of how to use it. Here's a link to a video of it in action. If anyone is asking you what you want for Christmas maybe this is just the thing. It's on my list.

Scroll down a bit for the two links to the videos.

Wish it was cordless.

Then it'll weigh 10 lbs more and might not last the time needed to do the job right.

Hmmm, maybe you're right. But the Dewalt XRP 18volt cordless drills and sawzalls we use at work last for hours. Granted, they are a bit heavier than their plug-in cousins.

Check out the Makita 7" Electronic Sander-Polisher
Model 9227C Polisher for Fast and Powerful Polishing for Clear Coat Finishes . It weighs in at only 6 lbs. You can see it here at:

http://www.makita.com/menu.php?pg=product_det&tag=9227C

We use this unit in our shop and have found it is the most comfortable as it has a "D" type side handle. The Model 9227CX3 includes a Polishing Kit.

If anyone is interested we are a distributor for Makita Tools.
