Re: Possible fix for check engline light on \'00 - \'01 with headers
Hey Tony,
That coating did look very clean! Question......did you or your installer use silicone sealant when doing your installation?
I have done a few installs recently and have not used "RED" silicone which on GM cars(and there is a SB out to GM dealers about it and it happened on my own C-5 when I installed headers)will trash the O2 sensor. The last viper I did, a 01' has yet to get a check engine light and has around 1000 miles since complete installation.
Just a theory based upon factual information from other cars. BTW when I removed the headers from my own vette(99 C-5) cleaned off the red silicone, reinstalled them, the light never came back on.!!???
Just my $ .02
