As an owner of a '00 GTS built sometime in 10/99 I am interested in the whys of this powdered issue. What is the problem here from the point of what is breaking? If the hardness of the cylinder lining prevented proper ring seating in some cars, I would think that this hardness would impart some sort of benefit to the block in the form of significantly less wear at the expense of ring damage and need for ring replacement at some part. What exactly is breaking or going bad leading to the high oil use, the rings or the walls? Currently I have 8700 miles on mine, and I use no noticible amount between my 2000 mile oil changes.

My 2000 RT/10 with an 11/99 build date had to have the motor sent to Arrow for rebuild. I was burning a quart every 150-200 miles. If you are not burning oil you have nothig to worry about.
